The Department of History at H.D. Jain College, Ara is a vibrant center of historical learning and research, committed to nurturing critical understanding of the past. As part of H.D. Jain College, which was established in 1942 and is a constituent unit of Veer Kunwar Singh University, the department plays a key role in shaping the academic and intellectual fabric of the institution.

The department offers comprehensive Undergraduate (B.A.) and Postgraduate (M.A.) programmes in History. The curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in ancient, medieval, and modern Indian history, as well as world history, historiography, and historical methodology. It encourages students to critically examine the forces and events that have shaped societies across time.

The Department is staffed by a dedicated team of scholars, including:
